International Curricula

International curricula exams are subject-by-subject assessments taken inside a school programme rather than as a separate admissions test. Practice for these is organised by subject and by topic, because a student sits Chemistry and Mathematics as separate exams with separate syllabuses.

  • IB

    The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, assessed subject by subject at Higher or Standard Level alongside the core requirements.

  • AP

    Advanced Placement subject examinations, taken to earn university credit or placement while still at school.

  • IGCSE

    International General Certificate of Secondary Education subject examinations, usually sat at the end of two years of study.

  • A-Level

    Advanced Level subject examinations, the usual basis for admission to universities in the United Kingdom and many other countries.
