What PTE Academic involves

Two hours in three parts, taken in one sitting: Speaking and Writing (nine question types), Reading (five) and Listening (eight). Verified against Pearson's published test format in September 2026.

Who takes it
Students and migrants who need evidence of English proficiency for university admission or a visa application.
How it is scored
10-90 overall on the Global Scale of English, with a separate score for each of the four communicative skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.

Are these real PTE Academic questions?

No. Every question is written for NewEducare to match the published format, difficulty and topic distribution of PTE Academic. Real exam questions are copyrighted and cannot lawfully be republished.

Is the PTE Academic practice test timed like the real exam?

Yes. Each section runs to the official time limit, the timer continues if you leave the tab, and the test submits itself when time runs out — the same constraint you face on test day.

Can I retake a PTE Academic practice test?

Yes, once. Every test, free or bought, can be sat twice: your first attempt and one retake. Both attempts are kept separately so you can compare them.

Do I get explanations for the PTE Academic questions I get wrong?

Yes. After you submit, every question can be reviewed with your answer, the correct answer and a worked explanation. Explanations are not sent to the browser before you submit.
