Know the screen before test day.

Every IELTS practice test runs in a workspace built for the exam: its clock, the way you move between questions and the tools it gives you.

Select text and right-click to highlight it or attach a note, flag questions to come back to, and adjust text size and background colour in Settings.
How the test runs
Listening, Reading and Writing each run on their own clock; Speaking is answered aloud through your microphone.

Then spend the next hour where it counts.

Go back through the questions that cost you marks. Then take the weakest area into a question bank and stay with it: one topic, the difficulty you choose.

Review first
Read the feedback on each Writing and Speaking task, then the Listening and Reading answers you missed.
Then targeted practice
In the IELTS question bank, choose a section, a topic and a difficulty; after each set you see the correct answers and worked explanations.

IELTS practice questions, answered

How many IELTS practice tests does NewEducare have?

There are 21 full-length IELTS practice tests, 1 of which is free. Each is a complete test with every section, not a sample of questions.

Are these real IELTS questions?

No. Every question is written for NewEducare to match the published format, difficulty and topic distribution of IELTS. Real exam questions are copyrighted and cannot lawfully be republished.

Is the IELTS practice test timed like the real exam?

Yes. Each section runs to the official time limit, the timer continues if you leave the tab, and the test submits itself when time runs out — the same constraint you face on test day.

Can I retake an IELTS practice test?

Yes, once. Every test, free or bought, can be sat twice: your first attempt and one retake. Both attempts are kept separately so you can compare them.

Do I get explanations for the IELTS questions I get wrong?

Yes. After you submit, every question can be reviewed with your answer, the correct answer and a worked explanation. Explanations are not sent to the browser before you submit.

Which IELTS purchases include the advanced performance analysis?

A 10- or 20-test pack and the Full Access plan of the IELTS question bank each include the advanced performance analysis, in the Progress tab of your panel. It shows: accuracy by section, topic and subtopic; results on easy, medium and hard questions; time use in practice tests (rushed, on time, slow); your 6 weakest topics, each with a link to practise it in the question bank; weekly progress chart; results by question type.
