AI Tutor talks you through the questions you got wrong

When a practice test ends, pick a mistake on your results page and the lesson starts. The tutor won't just read out the answer: it asks you, writes the steps on the board and lets you find where you went wrong.

FreeYour first 2 mistakes are free (up to 10 minutes)

No card needed to try it, just your account.

Works on SAT, GMAT, GRE, PTE, IELTS, TOEFL and ACT practice tests.

How it works

  1. 01

    Finish a practice test

Your results page lists every question you got wrong or left blank.

  2. 02

    Open the AI Tutor

Go in from the AI Tutor card on your results page, then pick the lesson language, how it runs and the tutor's voice.

  3. 03

    Talk it through

The tutor asks, you answer; the steps go up on the board and hints come when you're stuck.

  4. 04

    Move on

Press “Finish this question” once you've got it. Your first 2 mistakes are free; after that you carry on in 30-minute blocks.

The lesson screen is laid out for a laptop or desktop: the question list, the question and the board side by side. The browser asks for the microphone; headphones and a quiet room help.

What a lesson has

It starts from one mistake

When a practice test ends, your score report shows an AI Tutor card with the number of questions you got wrong or left blank. Open it and the lesson starts on those questions: the tutor already has each question, its choices and the answer you gave, so you never read anything out.

You work out loud

No typing: you talk it through. Interrupt whenever you like, ask a question, or say “got it” and move on to the next one. The tutor writes the steps one under another; you write with the pen, and it reads your handwritten step and carries on from there.

AI Tutor lesson screen: the wrong and blank questions on the left, an SAT Math question (x + y for the system x + 2y = 11 and 3x − 2y = 1) in the middle, and the tutor's steps written one under another on the board on the right.
Sample screen

You set the lesson up

“Step by step, together”: the tutor asks, you solve. “Let the tutor explain”: it talks you through the solution and you stop it wherever you get stuck. Start the lesson in any of 20 languages; after that it follows whichever language you speak. The question itself stays in English, as it is on test day.

On the SAT and ACT, the exam's own Desmos

SAT · ACT

The same calculator as in the SAT and ACT Math practice tests is on screen. The tutor sees each expression you type and its value, so it can tell a right method with a mistyped expression from a wrong method.

Writing, coached against the rubric

IELTS · TOEFL · ACT · GRE · PTE

The tutor goes through your essay or email against the exam's own published scoring criteria: it shows where the score comes from using your sentences, and you make the fixes. It never writes the text for you. On PTE Speaking it works from the transcript of your recording and does not re-score pronunciation or fluency; IELTS and TOEFL Speaking are not reviewed.

It won't lead with the answer, or withhold it

The tutor climbs one rung at a time and never skips one. Ask for the answer and you get it; the “Show the answer” button is on screen for every keyed question.

  1. 0

    Watches

While you are working, it stays out of the way.

  2. 1

    Try again

“Have another look at the choices.”

  3. 2

    Points the way

    “Read the second sentence again.”

  4. 3

    Asks a question

“Are we solving for x here, or for 2x?”

  5. 4

    Targeted hint

“There's a sign slip. What happens when the minus moves across?”

  6. 5

    Shows one step

It writes only that step on the board; the rest is yours.

  7. 6

    Full solution

When the guided attempts are spent, or whenever you ask for the answer.

Exams it works on

The tutor works in each exam's own sections, under their official names, on NewEducare's practice tests, the free diagnostic included.

Every question leaves a short record

When a question closes, the tutor files it: which kind of mistake, how many hints it took, and whether you got there in the end. No audio is kept. A written transcript of the lesson and a short note per question (the type of mistake and how many hints it took) are kept with your account, and deleted when your account is deleted.

Each question's mistake type is collected in your panel, exam by exam: how many questions each type came up on, and which ones, each linked to its test's results. Open your panel

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't predict your score or promise a higher one.
  • It works on the practice tests you finish, not on question-bank or homework questions.
  • It doesn't review IELTS or TOEFL Speaking, doesn't re-score PTE pronunciation, and never writes your text or homework for you.
  • It doesn't replace a human teacher.

Questions people ask

Which exams does the AI Tutor work on?

SAT, GMAT, GRE, PTE, IELTS, TOEFL and ACT practice tests, including the free diagnostic tests. When the test ends, the lesson starts from a question you got wrong or left blank on your results page.

How much is free?

Your first 2 wrong questions are free, once per account, for up to 10 minutes. There is no card to enter to try it; you just need to be signed in.

How is it charged after that?

You buy time in 30-minute blocks, up to 8 blocks (4 hours) in one purchase. The price is shown in the site's currency. Unused minutes stay on your account and carry over to your next practice tests.

Will it just tell me the answer?

Yes, if you ask. It starts by asking you and giving hints, but say “just tell me” and it does. The “Show the answer” button is on screen for every question, except Writing tasks, which have no single right answer.

What language does it teach in?

It opens in the language you pick (any of 20) and then follows whichever language you speak. The question stays in English, as it is on test day.

Do I need a microphone?

The lesson runs on voice, so your browser will ask for the microphone; headphones and a quiet room help. You can mute whenever you like and carry on by writing on the board.

Are lessons recorded?

No audio is kept. A written transcript of the lesson and a short note per question (the type of mistake and how many hints it took) are kept with your account, and deleted when your account is deleted.
