Cookie policy
Two kinds of cookie: the ones the service cannot work without, and analytics, which we set only if you say yes. There is no advertising cookie on this site.
Strictly necessary — always set
Authentication cookies. Set when you sign in, so that each page you open knows it is you. Without these you would be signed out on every navigation, and a test could not be attributed to your account.
Session refresh cookies. Rotated as you browse to keep your sign-in valid and to limit the damage a stolen cookie could do.
Your cookie choice. A first-party cookie named __consent recording whether you allowed analytics. Keeping a record of your answer is itself strictly necessary — without it we would have to ask on every page — so it needs no consent of its own. It lasts six months, after which we ask again.
Payment cookies. Set by Stripe inside its own checkout frame, to process the payment and to detect fraud. They appear only when you are at checkout, and Stripe’s use of them is governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy.
Analytics — only if you allow it
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages people actually use, so we know which parts of the catalogue are worth expanding. It sets cookies named _ga and _ga_<id>, which distinguish one browser from another and let us count returning visits.
These cookies are not strictly necessary, so we ask first. The tag itself is present on every page, but it runs under Google Consent Mode with storage denied until you agree: no _ga cookie is written and no identifier is kept for you. Choosing “allow analytics” grants storage from that moment; choosing “necessary only”, or changing your mind later, keeps it denied and expires any analytics cookie already set.
Being straight about what this mode costs: while storage is denied, the tag still sends Google a cookieless signal that a page was viewed, which carries the ordinary technical information any web request does, including your IP address. Nothing identifies you across visits, because nothing is stored on your device to identify you with.
We never send your name, your email address, your answers or your scores to Google. What goes is page addresses and that ordinary request information.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. It reopens the same two choices, and switching to “necessary only” clears the analytics cookies straight away.
Browser storage during a test
While you are taking a test we also keep a copy of your answers in your browser’s local storage. This is not a cookie and is never sent to us on its own; it exists so that a dropped connection or a closed tab does not lose your work. It is cleared when the test is submitted.
What we never set
There are no advertising cookies, no remarketing tags, no social-network pixels and no cross-site profiling on this site. We do not sell or share what you do here with advertisers, and there is no third party on these pages building a profile of you.
Controlling cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you view and delete cookies and block them per site. Blocking cookies from neweducare.com will sign you out and prevent you from taking a test, because there will be no way to tell one visitor from another. Blocking Stripe’s cookies will prevent payment from completing.
