CLINICAL POSITIONS: PATIENT FOCUS

Positions in healthcare that have a strong focus on patient care are jobs that require workers to be personable, collaborative, skilled and maintain strong stamina. These jobs often require people to be on their feet most of the day while maintaining a friendly and professional persona. While working in a clinical position, you can expect to spend most of the day communicating with patients and other healthcare staff, while also performing direct patient care.

Phlebotomy Technician Career in New Jersey

Phlebotomy Technicians are healthcare workers that draw blood from the patient in the doctor’s office or a hospital setting. Medical Billers and Coders bills a patient’s insurance company for any prescriptions or medical care that was provided during their stay at a health care facility. Medical Billers and Coders input patient’s data in a computer through a series of codes for the insurance company to be billed and advocates the patient’s medical coverage if needed. The types of codes used are the ICD-10 AND CPT Codes along with the HCPCS Level II Codes.

Surgical Technician Career in New Jersey

Surgical Technicians are another vital healthcare member that works behind the scenes. This a position that has very little to no patient contact. Surgical Techs have a detail-orientated position in healthcare. The tasks and responsibilities of surgical technicians include preparing a room surgical, gathering all equipment and supplies needed, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are completely sterile. It is very important that the equipment and supplies used in surgery are sterile (containing zero microorganisms), because surgeries are an invasive procedure, meaning that some part of the body is cut open so an internal health issue can be corrected or rectified. If any microorganisms were to enter the body through a large opening this could mean a life-threatening situation for a patient through staph infection or nosocomial infections that can occur during surgery.
