What to Expect from a Career as a Pharmacy Technician and How to Become One

Pharmacy Technicians can be a great career path to get into. What separates this position from many other positions in healthcare is the work environment and stress level. For example, Pharmacy Technicians typically work in drug store pharmacies and may have limited patient interactions. You will not find this workforce in an emergency room dealing with those high-stress situations. This position is great for those that have the drive to help people but do not wish to work in an emergency room setting. To find employment as a Pharmacy Technician most positions require a non-degree post-secondary award, or certification offered through trade school (vocational program). With most programs, you can go from the classroom to a paying job in as little as 3-4 months.
